I’m trying something a little different with this blog– since I’m such a delinquent about posting on the regular, I’ve decided to start sending out a monthly newsletter with all of the latest updates.  Here’s the first, for the month of April.

Check it out and keep in touch!

Trailer Alert!

March 3rd, 2012 § Leave a Comment

The trailer’s out for Angela Matemotja’s short film, “Bernard,” a really ambitious project that tackles race, sexual orientation and religion.  I play a take-no-bullshit gay man that refuses to play the victim when he is the target of a hate crime in an office elevator, but there’s much more to the incident that I won’t reveal here.  Matemotja’s production first short, “The Encounter,” which is thematically linked in both subject matter and narrative to “Bernard,” has gone on to play scores of festivals and garner a lot of amazing accolades.  Working with Angela was a really wonderful experience and I can’t wait to see the finished project when it comes out!

I just got back from three days in Marfa, Texas shooting a supporting role in Brea Grant and Vera Miao’s feature, “Best Friends Forever.”  It’s an awesome movie with an awesome script and an awesome cast, and I expect awesome things are in store for the finished product.  The producers have set up a daily blog at www.bestfriendsforeverfilm.com.  Check it out!

Had a blast last night shooting Shilpi Roy’s new web series pilot “Guy and Girl Get it On… Eventually.”  Wherein a hipster guy and a hipster girl can’t decide what cereal to buy and/or if they should talk to each other.   It’s a Silverlake love story that doesn’t take itself too seriously– can’t wait to see it when it comes out!

Viscera Film Festival

July 21st, 2011 § Leave a Comment

had a blast at viscera film festival this last weekend!  Got to hang out with a lot of great people and see the Daywalt Fear Factory short I was in (The Many Doors of Albert Whale) up on the big screen!  Viscera’s a unique festival for a couple of reasons; it specifically celebrates the work of FEMALE genre filmmakers (like the incredible Marichelle Daywalt) and second, because the films that they screen are actually GOOD.  I’ve been to a lot of genre fests in my day, and I hate having to say this, but the bar isn’t always that high.  Viscera fest put together an awesome lineup of shorts that flowed well into one another and yet also stood out on their own merits.  Definitely a festival to check out next year, or when they take their shorts on the road in a few months!
